OIC In Action

My name is First Sergeant Gregory Lintinger of Attack Company, 5th Battalion, 20th Infantry (Sykes' Regulars) of the 3rd Stryker Brigade Combat Team from Fort Lewis, Washington. I am the First Sergeant of 163 infantrymen who make an impact in Iraq daily.

We are located about 30 miles south of Mosul, in the farm lands. The area we operate in is composed mostly of farms and mud huts. The children we come into contact with are just like all children in Iraq, they crave school supplies and soccer balls. Whether we are driving or walking in a small village, the children are always asking. It would be wonderful to grant their request with anything, paper, pencils, soccer balls, notebooks, etc. We interact with a lot of community leaders and there requests are the same, for the children.

Winning the hearts and minds for generations is what we are trying to accomplish and what little supplies we have received through family and friends have made a tremendous impact.

If you could assist me in this effort, anything would be greatly appreciated.

Sincerely,

Gregory Lintinger

Hello All,

In the past few days we have received more supplies and are continuing to distribute throughout our sector.

Thank you all for your support!!

The 2nd Platoon "Junkyard Dogs" visited three villages and as you can see were well received. Your efforts continue to make our mission that much easier. This is a truly a joint effort both here and at home.

Once again "Thank You All" and God Bless,

1SG Gregory Lintinger
